情况
 OS SAYQAL机场是一个典型的大型军用机场，但它位于偏远的地方。地形平坦开阔，只有一些灌木和小起伏提供掩护，除了西北方向靠近FRV#1的一个陡峭的山沟。机场本身布满了各种大小不一、分布不规则的飞机库、建筑物和防护墙。

Situation
OS SAYQAL Airfield is typical of large military airfields, albeit this one is in the middle of nowhere. Terrain is flat and open with only some brush and small undulations providing cover,except for a steep ravine to the north-west,near FRV#1. The airfield itself is covered with the usual collection of large,irregularly spaced hangars,buildings,and revetments.
Weather is clear and warm. Moon state is waning half full,with moonrise ealier this evening at 2235hrs.
It is now 0350hrs, June 24th.

Mission

Friendly Forces
A & B Coy, 2 R ANGLIAN, supported by elms from 4 SCOTS BG, will conduct a surprise assault. Most external fire support is currently directed toward the Bde main effort of securing DUMAYR,however a pair of AH1 from 662 Sqn, 3 Regt AAC is available.

Enemy Forces
4 SCOTS Recce Gp has been to provide detailed information about the enemy defences at OS SAYQAL Airfield.
Forces consist of C and D (wpns) coy,28 Airfield Defence Bn.There are a significant number of HMGs in positions ,and about a dozen bunkers.Approx six BTR-60 light wheeled armoured cars were seen.The recce group also mapped extensive minefields to the NW.

Notes
This s a tough mission and there isn’t much time. Maintain a stealthy approach across the open ground for as long as possible. Identify and secure key locations,destroying any enemy found there.
To get the most out of the attack helos that are on station it may be a good idea to set area targets for them during planning so they strike the objective areas before the infantry arrive. Use smoke and covered approaches to get close enough to knock out the BTRs with the light anti-armour weapons available.
Make a plan and execute it. Rushing into this mission with forces split all over the airfield and without a clear idea of what needs to be achieved will result in failure.
